Every now and then, a TV show comes along that captures the hearts of its viewers, and then out of nowhere, it gets axed. This is an injustice and a tragedy, and leaves us desperate for more episodes that will never come. So, in this post, we shall pay tribute to these fallen heroes of television.
Pushing Daisies (2 Seasons)
This unique and fresh love story told the tale of the rather unfortunate Ned, who has the odd gift of bringing people back to life with just one touch. Sadly for him, a second touch will leave the newly resurrected gone forever. When he revives his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, the pair set about solving murders by bringing back the victims for a post-mortem interview. The show suffered a cruel fate due to bad timing, as its pace was interrupted by the writers’ strike, never quite recovering.
Reaper (2 Seasons)
Reaper had a brilliant premise as it told the story of Sam Oliver, who, on his 21st birthday, discovers that a deal his parents made before he was born has left his soul belonging to the devil. The deal means that Sam now has to capture escaped souls and send them back to Hell. With the help of his ragtag bunch of friends, he carries out his duties until the end of season 2, when it was unjustly cancelled. We’re still upset.
Firefly (1 Season)
The cancellation of Firefly is still a bit of a touchy subject, so we’ll try to get through this without breaking down or writing a very strongly worded letter to FOX (alright, another strongly worded letter.) The show had the makings of a classic, with a brilliant cast, a fantastic script and Joss Whedon, but somehow it just didn’t make the cut, and after just one series it was axed. Fans have been crying out for a revival since its untimely death, and in 2005 good old Joss heard our cries and resurrected the show in the form of the movie, ‘Serenity’.
Here at Cheap LED TV, when we’re not campaigning for the revival of some of the greatest shows to ever grace our screens, we’re selling brilliant products. If you would like more information about any of our TVs, don’t hesitate to contact us on 0121 327 3273 and speak to a member of our team.
