Television has improved incredibly since it was first invented back in the 1920s. From black and white TV, to 3D TVs and more recently 4K TVs – it keeps on improving and adapting as time goes on.
No one would have predicted ten years ago that we would be able to use our TVs to check Twitter and Facebook updates, or to browse videos on Youtube – access to the internet has become a normal feature of a lot of modern televisions.
So much has changed recently; it’s hard to imagine what else could be introduced? With nothing set in concrete, we thought we would have a few imaginative guesses on what the land of TV will have in the next decade, or three.
8K LCD TV?
This one isn’t really an imaginative guess, as there has already been lots of talk and speculation about the introduction of 8K TVs. Sharp announced back in January that they were already designing a 8K resolution LCD TV – which boasts a native resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and 12-bit colour. It’s not expected to be on sale for quite a while – and it will probably be a long time before the average Joe can afford it!
How long will it be until they announce the 12K TV? We predict that it won’t be too far off in the future! Will it ever stop?
Say Goodbye to the Remote Control
We predict that the future will have no place for the remote control, and it will soon become something we remember using…a long time ago. Who will need remotes when you can simply use gestures and voice control to work your TV set? Gone are the days of searching endlessly for that lost remote control – now you just need to ask the TV to change the channel. We like this one very much!
Smell and Taste What You Are Watching?
This one is going to happen, we predict it right now! Years into the future (maybe a little more than a decade), we are not only going to be amazed by amazing pictures on our screens, we are also going to be able to use our other senses to get a full and realistic experience. A TV that is as immersive as possible is the ultimate goal, and we predict that one day we will be able to watch TV using all of our senses.
TVs Get Thinner and Thinner and Thinner
If you look back on a TV from several decades ago, and then compare it to a modern TV – you will see a massive difference in the size and shape. Over the years, TVs have been getting a lot thinner in size – making them look a lot more attractive and making them easy to fix onto walls. We predict that in the next decade or so, TVs will get even thinner, so that you will be able to place them anywhere and they won’t get in the way.
Whilst we’re dreaming about the future of TV, why don’t you make a change and invest in a TV that is available right now? We have affordable and high quality TVs available, so whether you are looking for a cheap 3D TV or a cheap smart TV; we have something for every budget.
