Movies to Look Forward To (Spring/Summer 2015)

There are tons of exciting cinema releases coming up this spring and summer, and at Cheap LED TV, we want to help you get ahead of the game.

Here are some of the most eagerly anticipated films, from major action blockbusters to animations from Universal and Disney Pixar, coming up in the next few months.

Minions (26th June)

Following the incredible success of the Despicable Me films, this eagerly anticipated prequel is expected to be just as good.

Focusing on the story of minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob, this film will tell the tale of how the minions lived before they met Gru, and their desperate search for an evil mastermind to serve. Just like its predecessors, the latest film in the Despicable Me franchise is expected to be an enormous success.

Mad Max: Fury Road (14th May)

Starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, this film is the fourth in George Miller’s Mad Max franchise. The first film in the series to be shot in 30 years, Fury Road is also the first Mad Max film to not star Mel Gibson.

The story is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, in a world rules by gangs and violence. If you’re a Mad Max fan, this is certainly a film that’s not to be missed!

Avengers: Age of Ultron (23rd April)

As the next instalment of the popular Avengers series, there will be a lot of people out there who cannot wait to see this film, which is in cinemas right now. It’s set to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, and is certainly a film that’s not to be missed.

With S.H.I.E.L.D destroyed and the Avengers team on hiatus, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) begins forming a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, which creates completely self functioning artificial intelligence. When the Ultron program goes awry, it is up to the Avengers to assemble once again to take down this new threat.

Inside Out (24th July)

Inside Out is the latest animation to come out of the Disney Pixar studio and is expected to be one of the most popular family movies of the summer. It tells the story of Riley, who like everyone else, is ruled by her emotions: Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness.

However, in Riley’s world her emotions are personified, and live in their own headquarters in the control centre of Riley’s mind. When Riley moves to San Francisco, her emotions struggle to adjust to the change and get lost in the rest of her mind. If you want something fun to do with the kids this summer, you should definitely head to the cinema to see this film.

Fantastic Four (6th August)

This reboot of the 2005 film, based on the comics from Marvel, is expected to be far grittier than its predecessor, but whether or not it can be more successful is another question entirely.

The film will be available in 2D and 3D, and tells the story of four people who are transported to an alternate universe, which alters their physical forms and gives them all super powers. This is slightly different from the original film, where the characters went to space. They have to learn to live with and control their powers in order to protect Earth from a familiar evil.

Terminator Genisys (3rd July)

As the fifth film in the Terminator series, there will be a lot of people who are eagerly awaiting the release of Genisys in early July. The film is intended to act as both a sequel and a reboot of the series, with Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as the Terminator. Will this film live up to the success of its predecessors? We’ll have to wait and see.

After finding himself in a new time line, Kyle Reese, a trusted lieutenant of the resistance, is given the task of saving John Connor’s mother Sarah, ensuring his existence and try to stop the most feared day that humanity will ever face: Judgement Day.
