We all love a good movie franchise that keeps churning out brilliant films – we’re thinking Harry Potter, Star Wars and pretty much anything Marvel. But then there are those painful sequels that really should not have made it past the drawing board. We’ll take you on the most cringe-worthy trip down movie-memory lane as we relive some of the worst film franchises in history.
The Fast and the Furious
Okay, now we have no problems with the first movie, it was actually pretty decent. But what we do have a problem with is the fact that they just refuse to let it go. Come on now, surely it’s time to move on? We’re currently at Fast and Furious 7 (genuinely not making this up) when it should have bowed out with grace after the second film (and that’s being generous.)
Step Up
Again, this is another instance where the first movie wasn’t bad – not great – but not completely awful. But it was most certainly not good enough to warrant 5 AND COUNTING movies. Channing Tatum let go, why can’t they?
Final Destination
In all honesty, the first of these films was pretty good. It was clever and new and overall a good watch. The fourth film was titled ‘The Final Destination’ so we thought they might have got the message and decided to let it finally die its death. Alas, this was not to be, as 2 years later the fifth instalment was released. There are only so many times we can watch a bunch of randy American teens die in completely absurd ways.
The Twilight Saga
Do we really have to say any more? Well we will anyway. Despite the fact that each movie has been raking in over $200m, they are just absolutely diabolical. The leading actors, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have got a lot of flak for these movies, with many people commenting on the unmoving face of Kristen and the constantly pained expression of Robert, but can you really blame them?! Even Pattinson has slated the movies in numerous interviews, laughing along with the rest of us at how completely terrible they are.
Here at Cheap LED TV we have a fantastic range of telly boxes that are far too good to play host to any of these films, so put the Twilight DVD down on the ground and step away from the TV (maybe stomp on it as you walk past.)
