Apple TV
The Apple TV box is one of the more expensive streaming devices on the market, and it’s debatable whether it’s worth the price tag. Apple’s biggest selling point is its Apple TV+ streaming service, but this can be accessed on devices with a much lower price tag, such as the Fire TV Stick or the Roku Streaming Stick+. However, if you’re an Apple fan, you may want to pay a little extra to have your streaming device match your other devices.
Apple TV+ has a lot of original content that you won’t find anywhere else, but don’t buy an Apple TV box just for this reason as you can access it in many other ways. The Apple TV streaming device comes with a sleek Siri voice recognition remote control, and you do also get a year’s free subscription to Apple TV+ with your purchase.
Xbox One S
The Xbox One S is considered by many to be the best console for streaming content to your TV. Along with being able to access your favourite streaming services, you’ll also be able to play the latest games and have access to games that have been downloaded digitally. If you want a sleek low-cost streaming device, this probably isn’t the best option for you, but if you’re looking for more than just a TV, the Xbox One S is a great entertainment system.
Chromecast
If you want a low-cost solution to stream content on your TV, then the standard Chromecast is a good option. Although it doesn’t come with a remote and does have its restrictions, you can effortlessly stream YouTube, Netflix, BBC iPlayer and many other services via your smartphone or tablet to your TV. Beware that you will need an up-to-date mobile device to use your Chromecast with.
