2018 looks to be one of the most successful years of film to date with an incredible line-up that targets all age groups. Here at Cheap LED TVs, we have compiled a list what we think are the most anticipated motion pictures of the year.
Avengers: Infinity War
Since the beginning of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) people have been longing for the Avengers to battle The Mad Titan Thanos and it’s finally upon us. Everything the Avengers has fought for since the first Iron Man in 2008 has led up to this moment as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance as Thanos wreaks havoc with his Infinity Gauntlet.
The film is set to include The Guardians of the Galaxy, Spiderman, Doctor Strange and Black Panther alongside The Avengers in a film that is poised to be the best action film of the year. Marvel Studios have set a release date of 27th April in the UK.
This is the second instalment in the Star Wars anthology and follows the famous smuggler and pilot of the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo. It will follow a young Han Solo on his more criminal activities as he meets his Wookie best friend Chewbacca and fellow smuggler Lando Calrissian.
The film has already had its two original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, fired due to “creative differences” with Lucasfilm. But they quickly hired the successful Ron Howard who is best known for Apollo 13 and Beautiful Minds. It’s set to release May 2018.
The Incredibles 2
With the first film being an instant hit with all ages Brad Bird knew he had to come up with something special to follow up his classic Pixar Animation piece. It’s set to start immediately where the last one ended with them engaging with The Underminer after defeating their nemesis Syndrome.
So far, the only other information we have received is a short trailer showing Mr. Incredible babysitting a young Jack-Jack. The film has several returning cast members such as Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Mrs. Incredible) and Samuel L. Jackson (Frozone). Huck Milner is the new voice of Dash as he wanted to keep his pitch of voice the same as the first film so if the now deeper voiced Spencer Fox retained his role it would conflict with continuity. The release date has been confirmed to be 15th June.
This sequel to the highly successful Jurassic World (2015) looks to stomp its way onto the big screen this year. The film takes place on Isla Nublar where the Dinosaur theme park was destroyed four years ago, now the dinosaurs roam free without any dangers from the outside world.
But a potential volcanic eruption threatens their existence. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Bradley Wong reprise their roles from the previous film alongside Jeff Goldblum who will return as Dr. Ian Malcolm from the original film in 1993. Steven Spielberg also returns as an executive producer to add his extensive knowledge of the series. The film is confirmed to release June 7 in UK cinemas.
