My Cart - 2014 brought us an array of fantastic games encompassing all genres, from the highly anticipated Destiny, to other genre-defining games like Dead Rising 3 offering up a uniquely customisable opportunity to slay hordes of zombies, whilst having more fun than ever before. 2015 has big boots to fill, but from what we saw at E3, it doesn’t look like it has any plans to disappoint. Here are our top 4 most anticipated releases of 2015:
4) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
For Metal Gear fans this is great news, plus it’s the first of the series to break entry into the PC market. The game takes a new perspective on the famous ‘violent business as usual’ style and slows the game play down to encourage the user to be more intricate in how they plan each mission. The new enormous open world roaming allows the user huge freedom in how to approach the story, as just ‘running into the action’ is not nearly as rewarding as planning each move from the hilltops and then perfectly executing your plan. It may be a while before we see this new addition to the Metal Gear series, but it’s shaping up to be very impressive indeed
3) Bloodborne (PS4)
From the team behind Demon Souls and Dark Souls comes a new addition, a more fast-paced RPG in a more gothic setting. The game looked fantastic at E3, absorbing and brutal with an almost Devil May Cry feel to it. As expected from the developers, this game is soul crushingly difficult and so the souls fans will definitely be right at home.
2) Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)
This is not simply one of the most anticipated games of 2015, rather one of the most anticipated games of all time; the next addition to one of the best gaming franchises ever. The game seeks to make use of the new and more powerful next gen console’s capabilities in order to provide the user a more exhilarating experience. The story will still follow the journey of Master Chief and the discovery of his past and future, but Halo 5 will also include some new characters. We are eager to find out more but the gaming world will have to wait until the release of the Beta in November!
1) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Long awaited and nearly with us is the 3rd and final instalment of the series. A series known for its immersive storyline and the level of freedom it gives the user when playing through it. Your actions have consequences and how you choose to approach each situation will affect how the story plays out for you. With an enormous open world to explore (they claim it is 20% larger than Skyrim) and with the new/more powerful next gen consoles to utilise, this addition is set to be explosive. The story itself contains more than 100 hours of game play and again follows Geralt Of Rivia in his quest to protect humankind from the Nilfgaard and a new enemy in the form of the Wild Hunt. We can’t wait for this one.
So for the gaming world, 2015 is shaping up to be an exciting prospect with enough fantastic new titles to keep us entertained for hours.
