Size Matters
When it comes to picking the right TV for your room, size certainly does matter – too small and you won’t be able to enjoy the details to their fullest; too large and your room will be overpowered, and you won’t be able to get a comfortable viewing angle. Time for some maths – home cinema experts say that if you multiply the distance (in inches) from which you’ll view your TV by 0.625 you’ll get the perfect size. That means that if your sofa is 5ft (60 inches) from where you want to place your TV, you should be looking at a TV of around 37 inches in size.
Of course, this does depend on your preferences – some might like their TV a bit bigger or smaller than this – but there’s a simple way to check, especially if you plan to mount your TV on the wall. Just use some decorator’s tape to mark out the size you’re considering, and you’ll get a good idea of how it will relate to the rest of your room.

Different types of TV offer different advantages.
